For one of the weeks we were told to use a material other than pencil. I decided to use charcoal which I found myself very comfortable using. Shading with the material was easy and it was precise when adding pressure to the paper.
What I also did was change parts of the body to get an idea of proportion. I found this interesting as it was clear things looked completely wrong - such as a large shoulder but that was the purpose of the session. I also added colour to one of the charcoal images at the end. I felt that the colour allowed me to add highlights where light would hit the life model that would of been difficult to present just through one media.
